Important things to know before learning the French language.

How do I start to learn French?

Today, I will be writing in brief about how a beginner can prepare their mindset to learn French with ease. 

I feel happy to share my experience and knowledge with you all. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to learn the French language in France, which helped me a lot to learn the language better and faster than in Nepal.

I highly recommend that you read these following things, before jumping to the course directly. You might be wondering, who is this guy to give us a life lesson. But, I believe this will be a great help to you guys.

Important things to know before learning the French Language

1- Be Patient

It is a crucial aspect of one's life. Nothing happens overnight. Learning French is not as easy as you see in most of the titles on YouTube like "Learn French in One week". Learning a new language is always a bit challenging in the beginning, takes time, but it is not a mission impossible. Just remember, that you have to be patient.

2- Set your own daily goal 

It is not just about learning a new language. It is a fact that we all are so motivated and active for the first few days, but later we lose our enthusiasm and, we start to avoid learning. I have myself passed through this phase. 

Just set your own daily goal that you can achieve easily. You can start by learning 10 minutes a day for a week and gradually increase the timing according to your schedule or your level.

3- Do not worry about mistakes

Give damn to the mistakes in the beginning. There's no doubt that you will make a lot of errors during your process of learning. These mistakes will allow you to learn better French.

4- Listen more

Listening is an important part of learning language. You need to focus on listening more to speak correctly. 

5- Speak slowly

Speaking fast does not mean that you are good enough. It is important to speak correctly and the one's listening you understand easily. It is what matters in communication. So, consider speaking slowly and rightly.

6- No hesitation and feel proud

I know you might feel awkward when you speak French in the beginning. People might laugh at your accent. But do not hesitate to speak at all. You must be proud of yourself.

I don't know if you have considered or not; When a foreigner speaker few Nepali words, we think they are so intelligent, but what about us?  So feel proud of what you are doing and continue learning.

7- French grammar 

The French grammar will sure make you sad because it is complex. You might feel that you will never get it right. I still make a lot of mistakes in grammar.  I want to remind you that please do not jump to the complex grammar in the beginning.

French is one of the important language in today's business world.  So, if you are planning to learn it in during this COVID 19, please consider these things.

Learning a new language might be someone's passion, one must be learning for their business/job, or education purpose. Nevertheless, it is always a bonus in one's life when you can speak multiple languages.
